The call was made by the UPDF designate Defence Attaché to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Brig Gen Paddy Ankunda, while officiating at the closing ceremony of a two-week induction training for UPDF investigators and prosecutors at the Legal Training Centre (LTC), Gaddafi Barracks in Jinja City.

“It is your role to protect the institution by supporting the leadership to uproot the vice of corruption in the UPDF,” said Brig Gen Ankunda.

He emphasised that the training, initiated by strategic leadership, aimed to enhance the skills of legal personnel and improve the administration of justice within the force.

He urged the officers to uphold discipline and respect for human rights, grounding their conduct in the UPDF’s core values and ideological clarity. He cautioned against reckless lifestyles as it could compromise their health and effectiveness.
