Uganda’s Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, welcomed Central African Republic’s (CAR) top military commander, Major General Zépherin Mamadou, at Entebbe’s Special Forces Command headquarters. This high-level huddle highlighted a rock-solid partnership that’s bolstering CAR’s defenses and stabilizing the region.
UPDF trainers have supercharged FACA across the board, from junior ranks to elite specialists and senior leaders plugging command gaps and rebuilding a battle-ready force. Mamadou credited this support for creating a secure backdrop to CAR’s recent elections, a win amid persistent instability.
The CAR general passed on warm regards from President Faustin-Archange Touadera and the Defence Ministry, thanking Muhoozi for the invite. In return, Kainerugaba recommitted UPDF’s pan-African zeal, vowing sustained capacity-building to tackle shared threats.
Mamadou’s trip peaks at Uganda’s 45th Tarehe Sita celebrations, a nod to the 2024 military cooperation MoU that deepened ties against LRA remnants and beyond. This alliance exemplifies Uganda’s frontline role in Central African security, blending hard training with strategic solidarity.
