Kayunga district has hosted a delegation from Tororo for a hands-on agricultural benchmarking tour that highlighted practical solutions, local innovations, and success stories driving rural developmenMbert.
The visiting team was welcomed by the Principal Assistant Secretary representing the CAO, Mahhaba Maliki, alongside District Production Officer Charles Yiga on December 9th, 2025.
The group explored a range of vibrant farming enterprises, including a PDM-supported piggery in Kiwangula, Ms. Magezi Robina’s agro-processing operation in Kaazi village, JK Plantation’s pineapple value-addition line, and Lubus Farm in Ntooke with its cage poultry, dairy management, and silage production. They also visited Mr. Sserunkuma Benard’s model bee farm in Suuka and the Ugift coffee farmer field school in Kyiryamuli.
Yiga stressed that collaboration between districts strengthens service delivery and encourages innovation. Team leader Judith also shared her appreciation.

The Assistant RDC Umar Mitala also commended the exchange. He further said that they need to be corrected to become better and called for continued cooperation.
“We have learned a lot; we are going back not the same, and very soon we shall come back,” he noted.
The learning visit forms part of wider efforts to boost agricultural productivity through shared knowledge, practical exposure, and inter-district partnerships.
